Project Brief :

Complete site design, architecture, creative direction and backend content management database for loewe.com. Key elements included an innovative on-line flash presentation exhibiting the new Loewe boutiques interactively.

Challenge :

Loewe has been considered the luxury fashion and accessory company par excellence in Spain since 1846. The creation of fine accessories, which was the very origin and essence of Loewe, led the way in 1965 to the firms' entry into the fashion world through its Women's Pret-a-Porter line, for which it has relied on the collaboration of the most prestigious designers from all over the world: Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani, Laura Biagiotti, Narciso Rodriguez, and, today, Jose Enrique Ona Selfa. Its unquestionable leadership in the area of luxury leather products, is due to the special, meticulous method employed by Loewe, which results in a leather of incomparable quality, and turns each piece into a true work of art. The challenge would be to create a 'Work of art' which captures Loewe's sensuous modern view towards fashion interactively while allowing the web presence to act as an information vehicle for Loewe's rich company history.

Solution :

The new loewe website boasts warm golden, orange and red colors against an elegant black background, resulting in a clean, yet very animated site that seamlessly marries contrasts. Launched in Spanish and English, loewe.com has six informative and interactive sections that present the world of Loewe, from the origins of the Madrid-based house to its most recent creations. The 'Institution' section contains a profile of Loewe and its history, from the founding of a small leather shop in the heart of the Spanish capital to its international development, the fruit of the brand's accelerated expansion in recent years (there is a link to an interactive map showing Loewe sales outlets worldwide, plus a virtual tour of a store). A recruitment area enables candidates to apply for a job at Loewe online, including one of the specific career opportunities posted.

In addition to Loewe press contacts around the world, the 'Press' part of the site includes a section reserved to journalists, who need a password to access the content. The section includes press kits on new products, photos and a search engine for efficient surfing of the site.

Visitors can go to the 'Loewe Club' to look at catalogues for the current season or subscribe to a newsletter to stay abreast of upcoming shows, events and launches.

In the 'Catalogue' section, you can search different product categories, or use a handy 'Assistant' to help you quickly find the ideal gift after entering selection criteria (suggestions for a present for a man to use at the office, for example). A recently added section called 'The Latest' presents all the recent innovations and news from the brand.

And the 'Sensations' section entices people to embark on a fun interactive voyage that calls on all five senses.

Visitors see the different stages in the creation of a dress, recall a scent that has remained etched in their memory, or hear sounds that evoke an object in a holistic experience that combines spirit and imagination, as each choice leads to the discovery of new objects and sensations.
